LONDON: A Pakistan Army team has won a Silver Medal at Exercise Cambrian Patrol 2026, an international military patrolling competition held in Wales, with Pakistan’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Dr Tipu Usman, hosting the team at the Pakistan High Commission in London.

The High Commissioner congratulated the team on its achievement and discussed its experience of the demanding military exercise.
Held from 2 to 13 October 2026, Exercise Cambrian Patrol brought together 140 teams from 36 countries. The competition is widely regarded as one of the most challenging international military patrolling events, testing participants’ endurance, navigation, teamwork and tactical skills.
Pakistan’s contingent, drawn from the 59 Punjab Regiment, comprised one officer and seven soldiers. The team secured a Silver Medal, adding another achievement to Pakistan Army’s record at the competition.
Pakistan has now won medals at the event for five consecutive years. Its teams secured Silver Medals in 2022 and 2023, followed by Gold Medals in 2024 and 2025, before earning Silver again in 2026.
During their visit to the High Commission, the soldiers shared their experiences with mission staff and received recognition for their performance.
The latest result highlights Pakistan Army personnel’s continued participation and competitive performance in international military exercises, strengthening the country’s presence in professional military engagement with participating nations.
