A significant development is unfolding in the Muslim world as Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir arrive in Riyadh for high level discussions with Saudi leadership and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
Sources indicate that talks are focused on strengthening defence and strategic cooperation between Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye, with discussions reportedly aimed at expanding security partnerships among Muslim majority countries.
The proposed framework, described by some analysts as a potential “Muslim NATO style” defence cooperation arrangement, could see participation from other regional countries, including Egypt, Qatar and Kuwait, in the future.
The meetings come amid growing efforts by Muslim countries to enhance regional security coordination and develop stronger defence partnerships.
