LONDON: Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, has stressed the importance of education, skills, entrepreneurship and fact-based analysis in empowering young people to navigate an increasingly volatile global environment.

Field Marshal Asim Munir held an interaction with a delegation of students from Harvard Business School during their visit to Pakistan. The delegation included students representing multiple countries.

Discussions covered regional and global developments, Pakistan’s security outlook and the country’s efforts to promote peace, stability and prosperity both within the region and beyond.

Addressing the students, the Army Chief and CDF emphasised that the younger generation has a critical role to play in shaping the future. He highlighted education and skills development, entrepreneurship and evidence-based decision-making as essential tools for young people seeking to make a meaningful contribution to society.

He also pointed to the growing influence of social media and the spread of propaganda, stressing the importance of analysing information through facts and credible evidence rather than being influenced by misinformation or sensational narratives.

The interaction also provided an opportunity for the international students to gain a first-hand perspective on Pakistan, its people and its potential.

The Harvard Business School delegation spoke positively about their experience during their ongoing visit, particularly praising the openness and warmth of the Pakistani people.

The students also acknowledged the tremendous potential and opportunities they see in Pakistan, offering a positive international perspective on a country that continues to seek greater economic, educational and investment engagement with the global community.

The engagement between Pakistan’s military leadership and an international group of future business leaders highlights the importance of dialogue, education and people-to-people connections in strengthening Pakistan’s engagement with the wider world.

For Pakistan, such interactions also present an opportunity to challenge negative perceptions, showcase the country’s potential and build a more informed understanding of its security, economic and social landscape.
