London: Pakistani authorities have announced special measures to facilitate overseas Pakistanis holding dual nationality who wish to perform Hajj 2027 on Pakistani passports but have been facing delays in obtaining their first Pakistani passport due to mandatory security clearance.
According to the information issued by the Directorate General of Immigration & Passports, Director General Muhammad Ali Randhawa, in consultation with Director General Intelligence Bureau Pakistan Fawad Asadullah Khan, has directed that the security-clearance process for eligible dual-national overseas Pakistanis applying for their first Pakistani passport be expedited.
A circular has reportedly been issued to Pakistani diplomatic missions around the world, instructing them to facilitate and expedite the process for applicants who need their passports in time for Hajj 2027.
The move is aimed at applicants who may otherwise be unable to obtain their Pakistani passports before the 20 November 2027 deadline for Hajj arrangements.
The Directorate General of Immigration & Passports has also issued a special proforma for Hajj applicants. Applicants will be required to complete the form with their relevant details and submit it along with their passport application at the concerned Pakistani embassy or consulate.
The authorities say the special procedure is intended to help eligible dual-national Pakistani applicants complete the security-clearance process more quickly and obtain their Pakistani passports in time for Hajj 2027.
The development is expected to provide relief to overseas Pakistani families who hold dual nationality and wish to perform Hajj using Pakistani passports.
