Former Prime Minister Imran Khan would not confront Pakistan’s military leadership or Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir if he were released from prison, according to his close aide Zulfikar Bukhari.
Bukhari said Khan would not take any action that could damage Pakistan and suggested that reconciliation with the military could be possible.
The remarks come amid continuing political tensions between Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the military establishment.
Bukhari also indicated that there are currently no direct talks between PTI and the military, while suggesting that the Army Chief could play a role in easing tensions.
Despite the conciliatory tone, PTI continues to demand Imran Khan’s release and has announced plans for nationwide political activity.
The comments could signal a potential shift toward political reconciliation if Imran Khan is released from prison.
