Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, will visit Tehran on Monday, August 24, for high-level talks with the Iranian leadership.
During the visit, Field Marshal Asim Munir is expected to hold delegation-level discussions with senior Iranian government officials. The talks are likely to focus on bilateral relations, regional security and matters of mutual interest.
The visit comes at an important time for Pakistan’s regional diplomacy, following the signing of the Makkah Agreement involving Pakistan, Türkiye and Saudi Arabia.
Field Marshal Asim Munir’s visit to Tehran is being closely watched as Pakistan continues to strengthen diplomatic and security engagement with neighbouring Iran and other key regional partners.
The visit is expected to provide an opportunity for both sides to discuss ways to further strengthen cooperation and address shared regional challenges.
