London: Pakistan Providing vulnerable, orphaned and disadvantaged children with protection, quality education and a brighter future is the mission of the Punjab Child Protection and Welfare Bureau, its chairperson, Sarah Ahmed, has said.
Ahmed said the bureau’s goal goes beyond rescuing children from the streets. It aims to help them become educated, confident and successful members of society.
She said children across Punjab facing poverty, homelessness, neglect and other social challenges are receiving special attention. The bureau provides safe accommodation, food, education, healthcare and personal development opportunities to help them build better lives.
According to Ahmed, several children raised under the bureau’s care have gone on to achieve success in different fields in Pakistan and internationally, bringing recognition to the country.
She said their achievements demonstrate that disadvantaged children can reach their full potential when given access to education, encouragement and equal opportunities.
Ahmed also praised Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif for supporting initiatives aimed at improving child welfare, protecting children’s rights and promoting public awareness.
She said awareness campaigns are being conducted across the province to educate parents, schools and communities about children’s rights, safety and the importance of education.
Ahmed stressed that protecting children from begging, exploitation and dangerous living conditions is a shared responsibility.
She added that the vision should extend beyond Punjab, ensuring that every vulnerable child across Pakistan has access to a safe environment, education, care and opportunities to succeed.
“Our mission is to ensure that every child enjoys a safe childhood, quality education and a dignified life,” Ahmed said.
She added that protecting and educating children today is essential to building a stronger and more prosperous Pakistan tomorrow.
