LONDON, 16 October 2026: British-Pakistani biker Guliafshan Tariq has been honoured by the Pakistan High Commission in London after completing an extraordinary solo motorcycle journey from the United Kingdom to Pakistan and back.

Pakistan’s High Commissioner to the UK, Tipu Usman, welcomed Tariq to the High Commission and praised her courage, determination and achievement, describing her journey as an inspiration for Pakistani women.

The meeting was attended by Asif Rangoonwala, trustee of the British Pakistan Foundation, prominent lawyer Mehreen Malik and officials of the Pakistan High Commission.

Speaking on the occasion, High Commissioner Tipu Usman said Tariq’s journey demonstrated the strength, resilience and determination required to overcome challenging terrain, long distances and border crossings.

He said her achievement had opened a new chapter for Pakistani women who wanted to pursue their ambitions with confidence and independence.

The High Commissioner also highlighted that ambition has no gender and that women can overcome barriers and challenge traditional stereotypes through determination and perseverance.

During the meeting, Tariq thanked the High Commissioner for recognising her achievement and supporting efforts to raise awareness of women’s participation in adventure sports.

She also shared her experiences from the solo journey, including the challenges she faced along the way and the hospitality she received in Pakistan.

Her journey is being recognised as an example of courage and independence, with the potential to encourage more women, particularly young Pakistani women, to explore adventure sports and pursue their dreams.
