Pakistan-UK Relations: Ishaq Dar Meets UK Minister in London

Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar met UK Minister of State Stephen Doughty in London today, where they discussed the growing relationship between Pakistan and the United Kingdom.
The meeting covered practical areas of cooperation, including trade, investment, emerging industries, climate change and cultural links. Dar welcomed the recent positive momentum in relations and stressed that regular engagement is needed to turn that momentum into stronger economic and institutional cooperation.
The Pakistani diaspora in Britain was also highlighted during the meeting. Dar described the community as an important bridge between the two countries, playing a valuable role in strengthening people-to-people ties.
The two sides also exchanged views on developments in the Middle East and Afghanistan, with both stressing the importance of dialogue, diplomacy and continued international engagement to support peace and stability.
Stephen Doughty appreciated Pakistan’s contribution to regional peace efforts and said the UK remains committed to maintaining close engagement with Pakistan on issues of shared interest.
The talks reflect continued efforts by both countries to build a stronger and more practical Pakistan-UK partnership.
