KABUL: A claim that Kabul’s military airport was targeted in a missile attack has been confirmed, according to the Afghanistan Freedom Front (AFF), an armed group opposed to the Afghan Taliban regime.
The group said its fighters carried out the attack at around 8:30pm on August 6, targeting Kabul’s military airport with several missiles.
According to the AFF, the attack targeted military transport and logistics facilities at the airport. The group claimed the strikes caused heavy damage to military installations and significant casualties among Taliban personnel.
The AFF said the operation followed recent attacks on the military airport in Kunduz, describing the Kabul strike as part of its ongoing campaign against the Taliban authorities.
