US President Donald Trump has welcomed the reported Mecca Joint Defence Agreement signed by Saudi Arabia, Türkiye and Pakistan, calling it a “big, bold, and important first step.”
In a message shared on his social media platform Truth Social, Trump said he was “very happy” to see the three countries finally sign the agreement, describing it as a sign that the Middle East is coming together.
Trump congratulated the leadership of Saudi Arabia, Türkiye and Pakistan and said the agreement could enable countries in the region to defend themselves in a more meaningful way.
He concluded his message with an emphatic: “THIS IS A BIG, BOLD AND IMPORTANT FIRST STEP WOW!”
The statement from the US president adds significant international attention to the emerging strategic cooperation between the three countries.
