LONDON: Pakistan Press Club UK Chairman and senior journalist Azhar Jawad met Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN) President and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif at his residence in Jati Umra, Raiwind, where they held detailed discussions on Pakistan’s political and economic situation.

The meeting lasted nearly three hours and included Friday prayers and lunch. Discussions focused on the country’s current political landscape, the performance of the PMLN government and the party’s future political strategy.

According to Jawad, Nawaz Sharif appeared to be in good health and remained actively engaged in political and party affairs.

The former prime minister expressed satisfaction over the PMLN’s performance in the recent Azad Kashmir elections, describing the result as a significant achievement for the party.

Nawaz Sharif also expressed confidence in the performance of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, particularly in relation to public welfare programmes, governance, development projects and ongoing administrative reforms in Punjab.

During the meeting, he also praised the efforts of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, highlighting the government’s focus on political stability, economic recovery, development and improving Pakistan’s overall prosperity.

Azhar Jawad said the meeting indicated that Nawaz Sharif continues to play a central role in the PMLN’s organisational and political affairs and remains closely involved in decisions concerning the party’s future.

According to Jawad, Nawaz Sharif intends to continue leading the PMLN in the next general elections and remains confident about the party’s future political prospects.

The meeting comes as the PMLN continues to strengthen its political organisation and prepare for future electoral challenges in Pakistan.
