New Delhi: Pakistan’s recent diplomatic engagements are increasingly drawing attention across the region, with moves aimed at strengthening ties with neighbouring and regional countries.

Pakistan has recently worked to deepen relations with Bahrain and Bangladesh, while its growing strategic engagement with Türkiye and Saudi Arabia has further highlighted Islamabad’s efforts to expand its diplomatic and defence partnerships.

The developments have also triggered debate in India over the country’s own diplomatic strategy.

Indian politician Shashi Tharoor has criticised what he described as weaknesses in India’s current diplomatic outreach, arguing that New Delhi’s foreign policy has suffered setbacks while Pakistan appears to be gaining greater regional engagement.

Tharoor’s remarks reflect a wider debate in India about whether the country’s diplomatic strategy is keeping pace with Pakistan’s expanding regional relationships.

For Pakistan, the latest developments represent an opportunity to strengthen its regional position, build new partnerships and increase its diplomatic influence.
